Accessibility Statement

A Website Everyone Can Use

Our commitment to making this site — and our clinic — usable by people of every ability, and what we are doing to get there.

Effective date: October 23, 2026 · Accident and Injury Care, 1916 23rd Ave S, Ste B, Seattle, WA 98144

Accident and Injury Care is committed to digital accessibility for all of our patients and visitors. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information about their recovery — and we treat web accessibility the same way we treat patient care: as an ongoing practice, not a one-time checklist. This statement explains our goals, the measures already in place, and how you can tell us when something is not working for you.

1. Our Commitment & Standards

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the widely accepted standard for accessible web content — and to follow the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in everything we publish.

Accessibility is built into every page as it is created: our team designs, writes, and tests with assistive technology users in mind, rather than retrofitting later.

2. Keyboard & Screen Reader Support

Every interactive element — menus, dropdowns, forms, the chat assistant, and the game on our 404 page — can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A "skip to main content" link lets keyboard users jump past the navigation on every page, and visible focus outlines show exactly where you are as you tab through.

Pages use proper headings, landmarks, and descriptive labels so screen readers can navigate them meaningfully, and images carry descriptive alternative text.

3. Text Size & Readability

We write in plain language and keep paragraphs short. If the default text size is not comfortable, our built-in accessibility tools (bottom-left of every page) let you enlarge text across the whole site — and your browser's own zoom works as expected on every page.

4. Color Contrast & Visual Design

Text and interactive elements are designed to meet contrast minimums against their backgrounds, color is never the only way we convey information, and a high-contrast mode in our accessibility tools strengthens contrast even further for visitors who need it.

5. The Accessibility Widget

Every page includes a floating accessibility button (bottom-left) that opens controls for text size and high-contrast mode. Your preferences are remembered on your device, so the site stays comfortable on every visit.

6. Motion & Animation

Animations on this site are subtle and decorative, never essential to understanding content. If your device or browser requests reduced motion, the site automatically softens or disables animations — including the open and close effects on the chat and accessibility panels.

7. Known Limitations & Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is a moving target, and we know we are not perfect. Some areas we continue to improve include the fine details of embedded third-party content (such as the Google map on our contact page) and the clarity of some older imagery descriptions.

We review pages regularly, prioritize fixes that affect real visitors, and treat every report we receive as a to-do item, not a complaint.

8. Tell Us About Barriers

If any part of this website is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it. Reach us by any method below, and we will respond, usually within one business day, and work with you to provide the information you need in a format you can use.
